All Current Art is Fake / Manifesto poster by Julien Rosefeldt
£18.50
This poster was printed by the Kunsthalle Helsinki in 2017 where Julien Rosefeldt's 13-channel installation Manifesto was shown. Manifesto (2015) pays homage to the moving tradition and literary beauty of artistic manifestos, ultimately questioning the role of the artist in society today.
Emblazoned with this 1999 quote from artist Sturtevant, this poster is super-striking and thought provoking. Sturtevant, who died in 2014, was, as Hans Ulrich Obrist wrote in her Guardian obituary, 'best known for her repetition of works by other artists, anticipating at an early date the debates surrounding notions of authenticity, authorship, originality and representation that became central to the discourse around art in the late 1960s and 70s... many now regard her as one of the most important artists of the 21st century.'
