Louise Bourgeois Spirals teacup & saucer - red
£29.95
By:
Louise Bourgeois
Add some serious art to your cuppa with this ceramic teacup and saucer featuring details from Spirals by the late, great Louise Bourgeois. Also available in blue (see separate product entry.) Bourgeois said "The spiral is an attempt at controlling the chaos" - this is also of course entirely applicable to tea drinking.
The spiral functioned as a visual metaphor for a range of Bourgeois's emotions. As MoMA writes, these 'spirals are endlessly variable—as coils of tension, protective cocoons, and even entrapping spider webs.'
