Since then, the Aalto vase has become a symbol of Finnish design and one of the most famous glass objects in the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eThe design for Alvar Aalto's vases was also his entry into a competition with the title: 'An Eskimo Woman's Leather Breaches.' The competition was held to find new, original designs for the Finnish stand at the Paris World's Fair in 1937.
