Contact Sheet Supersize Tote by Ian Beesley and Ian McMillan
Totes don't come much bigger or better than this. One side features a digital print of Ian Beesley's 1986 contact sheet of a shoot at Salts when the mill was still just about producing cloth; the other side is screen printed with Ian McMillan's poem 'Contact Sheet', written especially for the bag in response to his friend's images - so this poem is not in the 'From Salt to Silver' book.
The bag is a supersize shopper produced exclusively by Salts Mill, for Salts Mill. It's made in a Fair Trade Factory in India from unbleached 100% heavy cotton canvas (10oz / 283gsm canvas) from a sustainable crop. The bag is printed in Sheffield. Approximate dimensions of this bag are:
- 35 centimetres long and 48 centimetres wide
- A 13cm all-round gusset gives the bag extra capacity
- Long webbed handles that are both strong and soft
The bag has been created to accompany Ian Beesley and Ian McMillan's exhibition From Salt to Silver at Salts, in Autumn 2017 - for details see news/events on our visitor site.
(Please note, we are also selling a selection of Ian Beesley's photographs as limited edition silver bromide prints, hand printed, signed and stamped by Beesley in his darkroom. These are not for sale online, so if you're interested in buying one, please contact us.)
