Luxfer Prism Picture Frame by Frank Lloyd Wright

Using a design by the brilliant architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), the Museum of Modern Art, New York worked to create this lovely ornate picture frame. The highly geometric flower pattern is  composed of circles and squares. The frame is made from cast zinc alloy with a chrome finish and is velvet backed. The frame is designed for a picture measuring 4x6 inches.

The maximum dimensions of the frame are 200 x 150mm, but it takes maximum image size of 4 x 6 inches. Please note this a free standing frame and cannot be wall mounted.

Lloyd Wright's original design of 1897 was for a Luxfer Prism light. The design is in the MOMA FLW collection.  The light was patented by the U.S. Patent Office under Number 27,977 as an example of electro-glazed moulded art-glass for the Luxfer Prism Company office competition in Chicago, Illinois.
