Salt & Silver - A Story of Hope
This is the only book which tells the story of Salts Mill as it was built by Sir Titus Salt, and then re-imagined and re-purposed by Jonathan Silver. Silver purchased Salts in 1987 and opened the 1853 Gallery with pictures by David Hockney. He attracted an irresistible mix of art and commerce that breathed new life into the unoccupied Victorian industrial palace. Author Jim Greenhalf reported for Bradford's Telegraph and Argus on the regeneration of Salts and was perfectly placed to write this inspiring double biography. This book was first published in 1997; this edition was published in 2016 with a new preface, some new pictures and a fresh design.
