War And Peace by Pablo Picasso (silkscreen print)
Between 1951-1952 Pablo Picasso painted a set of memorials called 'War and Peace' for a deconsecrated chapel in the Communist governed village of Vallauris, Southern France. Picasso produced over two hundred drawings and studies for the murals including this depiction of a resting woman.
This large print is a hand-pulled silkscreen using high quality pigment inks on acid free, mould-made fine art paper. This printing method is an art studio process requiring separate screens for each colour and produces a rich, paint-like result.
