Silver|Story is an architecture and design studio based in York. At the heart of every project is the desire to tell a story. In this instance the story begins with the Centenary Celebration, marking one hundred years since the birth of Lucienne Day. There are one hundred lines in total featured on the barrel of the pen. Ninety-nine of the lines are white. The final line, representing Lucienne, is drawn in the signature yellow found in many of her designs. On closer inspection, only one of the white lines crosses in front of the yellow line, this line might be called Robin.

The Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation was established in 2012 as a design education charity. Their objective is to generate knowledge of the nation’s design heritage and in particular the work of Robin and Lucienne Day. They encourage access to the design legacies of Robin and Lucienne Day and to provide opportunities for students and the public to enhance their investigations into design in general and furniture and textile design in particular.
