The Road Across the Wolds Poster by David Hockney

£18.99

Artist: David Hockney

The Road Across the Wolds comes from a period when David Hockney rediscovered the landscape of his home turf. In summer 1997, he was often to be found driving across the Yorkshire Wolds to visit his sick friend, Jonathan Silver. Jonathan urged David to paint Yorkshire, and beautiful oils began to appear. The rich palette of these dynamic works are a celebration of life, love and landscape.

The Road Across the Wolds was part of the 2017/18  Hockney retrospective, seen at Tate Britain, London, the Pompidou Centre,  Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art,  New York.

If you want to hang your Road Across the Wolds with related works, North Yorkshire and The Road to York through Sledmere were also painted by David Hockney during the period described above and share the same palette, as does his Salts Mill.

Unframed dimensions: 61 x 50 cm
