Sunflowers poster by Vincent Van Gogh

£49.99

This needs no introduction.

Van Gogh painted seven versions of sunflowers to decorate his house in Arles in preparation for a visit from Paul Gauguin, a friend and fellow artist who famously admired Van Gogh's flower studies. Using a predominantly yellow pallet, Van Gogh portrayed the sunflower's life cycle stages from young bud through to decay, in the tradition of Dutch 17th century flower paintings that emphasises the transience of nature. This print is colour matched to the original painting and approved by the National Gallery, London, where it lives.
