Domus Condiment Set (Oil, Salt & Pepper), des. Marek Cecula, Polskie Fabryki Porcelany – Ćmielów Design Studio

Designed by renowned ceramicist Marek Cecula and part of the "Geometry" series, the "Domus" comprises of a compact set of three elements (oil dispenser, salt shaker, pepper shaker) composed of a rectangular, block form. The containers can be freely pushed together and apart, creating individual micro-architecture on the dining table. DOMUS, with its bright and energetic colours brings a striking dimension to the tablescape.

About Marek Cecula:

Cecuła spent his first 16 years in Kielce, Poland, before emigrating to Israel. He moved to Brazil 12 years later, followed by a move to New York City in 1976 where he set up Modus Design Studio and the Contemporary Porcelain Gallery.

From 1985-2004 he was Head and Coordinator of the Ceramics Department at Parsons School of Design in New York and from 2004-2010 he was Visiting Professor at the National Academy of the Arts in Bergen. In 2012 he opened Design Centrum Kielce and a year later, the Ćmielów Design Studio. He currently holds the post of Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art, London. Cecula's works can be found in the collections of the Royal Mariemont Museum in Belgium, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, among others. 

About Ćmielów Design Studio:

In 2013, with Marek Cecula's participation, Ćmielów Design Studio was established, a design studio of Polish Porcelain Factories, which conducts development activities, introducing contemporary Polish design to the global market. Experimenting with the porcelain production process, the Studio combines the touch of the human hand with innovative methods and technology. The Studio space is used for numerous projects in the fields of education, art and business, and cooperation is undertaken with schools and designers from all over the world as part of the Residency program. The Studio provides young creators with the opportunity to participate in celebrated projects, while promoting Polish design to an international audience.
