Cowboy Poster by Richard Prince

This compelling poster features Cowboy by the major American artist Richard Prince. The poster was first published in 2025 by the Louisiana Museum, Denmark in connection with the exhibition Louisiana New Works. 

Richard Prince (b. 1949) is a key figure in the US's so-called Picture Generation. He rephotographs glossy magazine advertisements with sofas, photo models, biker girls – or the American man, as the cigarette brand Marlboro has defined him: here tightly cropped by Prince's camera, held together with tape, open to new interpretation. Oh my America!
