This poster, produced by the Louisiana Museum in Denmark, celebrates the works of Romanian-American artist Saul Steinberg, (1914-1999) Originally produced for an exhibition in 1968, this is a contemporary reprint.

Steinberg's drawings were characterised by satire and irony and at the same time devotion - and always with a mastered virtuosity. In many works he explored social and political systems and human challenges.

Before leaving Europe for the US during World War 2, Steinberg studied architecture in Milan and had satirical drawings published. In 1941, Steinberg traveled to New York, where he was employed by The New Yorker. His drawings also found their way into magazines like Vogue, Fortune and Harpers Bazaar.
