Whilst installing an exhibition of his opera sets at Salts Mill, David Hockey painted the views from the gallery on the 3^rd floor. This painting is of Victoria Hall in Saltaire. Victoria Hall was built by Sir Titus Salt in 1869 as the centre of recreation, culture and learning for village residents.
