Monotypes et Gravures poster by Jim Dine (Galerie Maeght, Paris, 1983)

£25.00

Artist: Jim Dine

This gorgeous poster features the work of Jim Dine - it's the heart motif for which he is perhaps most well known. The poster was produced by Galerie Maeght in 1983 for the Dine show at their Rue de Teheran premises in Paris.

Dine was born in 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio, moving to New York in 1959 where he  became a pioneer of the Happenings movement together with Allan Kaprow, Claes Oldenburg and Robert Whitman. Closely associated with the development of Pop art in the early 1960s, Dine diverged from the coldness and impersonal nature of Pop by making work about the personal and the quotidian. His work has been celebrated down the decades, with major retrospectives at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Guggenheim in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
