Balloon Travel (1961) poster by Hans Bølling

Hans Bølling’s Balloon Travel was drawn in 1961 when his wife Søs gave birth to their first child Anne-Mette. It'a an adorable image of a happy family on a trip through the night sky. We love the whimsy and the muted palette. 

Born in 1931 in Braband, Denmark, Bølling graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Art Academy. He was involved in a very wide range of projects, designing dolls and furniture as well as villas and town halls.
