The CH33T chair designed by Hans J. Wegner has a light, graceful form that captures many elements typical of Wegner’s best furniture designs. We find these chairs very comfortable and use them as dining chairs, desk chairs and occasional chairs. They work really well in all these different contexts.
Dimensions: 74cm high, 55cm wide, 48 cm deep, seat height 46cm
Designed for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1957, the CH33P chair was in production for ten consecutive years. Carl Hansen & Søn reintroduced the design in 2012, adding colours from Wegner’s own working palette to the original wood variant. The CH33T expresses clean simplicity, with organic forms. The elegant chair is carefully designed to support load-bearing joints with clear references to the clean lines of the 50s and 60s. The beautiful wood construction has a warm, human feel, making the CH33T an ideal fit for modern interiors. The curved seat appears to float separately and is ideal for upholstering. The seat can be upholstered in a variety of coloured fabrics or fine leather.
About Hans J. Wegner
Among Danish furniture designers, Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the most creative, innovative and prolific. Often referred to as the master of the chair, Wegner created almost 500 chairs in his lifetime – many of them considered masterpieces. He is probably best known for his iconic Wishbone Chair which has been in continuous production since 1950. The core of Wegner’s legacy is his focus on bringing the inner workings – the soul – of the furniture to the exterior, where the simplicity and functionality can be appreciated.
