David Hockney Diner Dog Tote Bag
This gorgeous 100% organic cotton natural canvas tote bag features David Hockney's 1994 Design for Salts Diner Napkin. It was sketched by David in pen on a folded paper napkin for his friend Jonathan Silver who had asked the artist for a logo for his just-opened restaurant. The Diner Dog, as we call him, has been loved by generations of visitors to Salts Mill and customers of Salts Diner.
This tote bag is produced by Salts Mill, for Salts Mill. It's made and screenprinted exclusively for us by re-wrap, a social enterprise invested in the livelihoods of the women and farmers of India. re-wrap empower artisans to hand-craft reuseable cotton products for export and build partnerships with farmers who grow their organic cotton. They aim to create sustainable livelihoods for rural women where employment opportunities are limited, to help them gain economic independence. Our totes are shipped from India by sea, not by air.
