Delivery Hat poster by James Rosenquist (Galleria del Milione, Milan, 1972)

£95.00

A gorgeous poster printed in 1972 for an exhibition at the Galleria del Milione, Milan, this features the work of James Rosenquist (1933-2017). It reproduces Rosenquist's lithograph Delivery Hat 1971.

Together with Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist is one of the greats of American Pop art. From the late 1950s, he was instrumental in establishing Pop as a movement, changing our expectations of visual art.  Rosenquist worked as a billboard painter of American adverts, which fed into his desire and ability to work on a monumental scale. In the  60s and 70s his art reflected a complex society of consumerism, technology, severe brightness and deep darkness - and peered into a complex future.
