Designed by Leeds legend George Sowden and part of the Sowdenlight SHADES collection, the vibrant and playful FL4 floor lamp is comprised of the Sowden silicone shades standing on a cast aluminium base and an extruded aluminium pole. The silicone sets the lamps apart even before you turn them on; the colours and proportions are reshaped during use, spreading soft, comfortable light.

SHADES is a new series of Lamps developed by acclaimed designer George Sowden. The idea took shape in 2020 when Sowden, while working on another project, discovered the extraordinary potential and ability to diffuse light through soft silicone; a non-toxic material that is easy to clean, stands up to impact and conserves its aesthetic qualities without ever showing signs of ageing.

About George Sowden:
George Sowden was born in Leeds and studied in Gloucester in the UK before moving to Milan in the 1970s. Here, Sowden opened his own design and product development studio and also co-founded the renowned Memphis Group. In 2010 he founded his own-name brand SOWDEN and in 2020 established SOWDENLIGHT.
