Stargate A3 Textile Archive Print - edition of 50

£45.00

This rather fabulous limited edition print is one for those who love all things Ancient Egypt. In November 1922 Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb, sparking immense popular interest that had a huge influence on the visual arts in Europe, especially in fashion and textiles. This print features a textile design originally created in 1923 - we love the designer's production notes across the top, written in such an elegant French hand! Lovingly restored and reproduced on 90% bamboo paper, this fine example of the Art Deco Egyptian Revival is now a beautiful artwork to invoke the mystical realms.

The Ancient Egyptians used magic rituals in their daily lives to Invoke the Gods, to create a sacred space and manifest divine ascension. By invoking the deities of ancient Egypt, you create a "stargate" to enter other dimensions, receive messages and become one with the gods. According to the philosopher Iamblichus in his book, On the Mysteries of Egypt, "It is through evoking higher spiritual powers by means of rites of Supernatural Magick that humans come to true realisation of what they are in essence: eternal spiritual entities."

Printed in the UK on bamboo paper made from 90% sustainable bamboo fibres and 10% cotton rag: environmentally friendly paper with a natural look, giving the print a lightly textured and sensual feel.

Dimensions: this print is A3 size (297 x 420 mm). Unnumbered edition of 50.
