Charlotte Perriand was a fiercely independent designer. Despite the pushbacks of her male colleagues, she pioneered an unwavering series of modernist designs, often looking to nature and Asiatic culture for inspiration. They include iconic styles like the LC7 Armchair, Mexique Desk and this Ventaglio table,  distinctively asymmetric in shape and recalling 1920s Art Deco, Japanese fans and origami. A marvellous mind, whose creations live on today through the Italian manufacturer Cassina.
