Woman-Flower (Françoise Gilot), 1946 print by Pablo Picasso - limited edition of 1000 copies
£160.00
What a stunning Picasso work showing Françoise Gilot merging with nature. This is a limited edition of 1000 copies (not numbered)
Gilot was a painter, a writer, an independent spirit and a major beauty. She became a model for Picasso, who portrayed her as a flower woman, combining abstract, interlacing and naturalistic forms. Picasso told Gilot, "There is in you the impetus of a plant in spring." In 2024, Gilot's own work was finally shown in the Picasso museum alongside that of her partner. Madame Gilot lived to see her 100th birthday. What a woman!
Please note, the pictures show the image on the poster. The poster itself has a plain white border.
