Yellow Tulips, c.1922 poster by Charles Rennie Mackintosh

£22.95

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer, and artist and was one of the most important figures in Modern Style, an Art Nouveau movement specific to Great Britain. Later in life, Mackintosh became disillusioned with architecture and turned to painting. Mackintosh produced numerous flower studies including ‘Yellow Tulips’, situating the vase of flowers in this studio in Chelsea, London. The background is painted with such care that it fights with the flowers for our attention.
