Wonderful Copenhagen Poster by Viggo Vagnby

Artist: Viggo Vagnby

Designed by Danish artist Viggo Vagnby (1896-1966) this charming poster illustrates a delightful event that really happened in Copenhagen 1959. At rush hour in the Frederiksberg district, a policeman halted all traffic and pedestrians. The reason? A family of ducks was crossing the road.

Thanks to this nature-loving officer, the feathered family were able to waddle along safely under the watchful eye of all present. This touching moment captured imaginations worldwide.

Celebrate stopping the traffic with this lovely poster, or search our site for Hans Bolling whose iconic teak ducks were also created to commemorate this quacking tale.
