Julie Cope's Grand Tour Exhibition Poster by Grayson Perry (blue)
£27.50
Oh, how we love this poster and oh, how we love the art and the life of Grayson Perry.
This exhibition poster was created for Julie Cope's Grand Tour: The Story of a Life by Grayson Perry. The touring show stopped off at Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh from 25 July – 2 November 2019 as part of Edinburgh Art Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Dovecot produced this poster.
Julie Cope’s Grand Tour showed the complete set of tapestries designed by Perry for his extraordinary project A House for Essex. The house, designed with FAT Architecture for Living Architecture, was envisaged as a secular chapel dedicated to Julie Cope, a fictional every-woman. This poster shows a detail from the work In It's Familiarity, Golden. In Perry's words, "This is the second half of Julie's life. The title comes from a(nother) line in the poem I wrote, about how happiness isn't 'ecstasy, a fleeting peak' but rather 'a wide fertile valley / In its familiarity, golden.' It's the right idea that happiness is doing the quiet, regular, everyday things."
Dimensions: A2 (594 x 420mm)
